That’s where you come in! We’re looking for an ambitious Junior Accountant to provide support to the finance department by managing daily accounting tasks. You will be part of a team working to maintain order and transparency for the group’s finances. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in tax and accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Posting and processing double-entry bookkeeping journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
- Updating accounts receivable/accounts payable with bank receipts/payments
- Assets (PPE) tracking (additions, disposals, depreciation/amortization) and reconciliation with general ledger
- Monthly accounting of payroll and reconciliation with the payroll report
- Monthly reconciliation of journal entries with general ledger
- Monthly preparation of tax return submissions (VAT, withholdings etc.) and reconcile with general ledger
- Checking and reconciling expense reports
- Organizing, updating financial data and schedules to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
Requirements
- 2 years of experience as a Junior Accountant in double-entry bookkeeping Greek Entities
- Basic knowledge in IFRS, Greek Accounting Standards
- BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
- Knowledge of spreadsheets (excel)
- Experience with bookkeeping software (Pylon accounting or equivalent) with ability configuring and managing accounts to export right reports
- Familiar with tax laws about corporate income tax, monthly submissions of VAT returns, monthly withholding taxes, myDATA etc.
- Fluent in English
- Organized and analytical thinking with great attention to detail
